Therapy can be a powerful tool in the unique and rich journey each of us takes to come home to ourselves to find vitality, peace and fulfillment. It can meet us when we are feeling stuck, overwhelmed and seeking answers. As a consumer of and believer in holistic approaches to wellness and healing, I’m honored to be a part of Sol Community Counseling! I provide individual therapy to adults experiencing discord from issues including unresolved trauma, chronic stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, marital or family problems, relational conflict, and inertia or feeling stuck. I use an integrative and individualized approach influenced by somatic, mindfulness and Eastern philosophies. I view my role as a guide and a partner – offering tools, techniques and insight – rather than an expert in the life of others.
Benefits of therapy can include finding balance, learning coping skills, rediscovering choice, decreasing suffering, healing from trauma, processing grief and loss, increasing self-esteem and creating a fuller life worth living. In a session with me, you can expect to be welcomed into a safe environment where you will connect with the dynamic tapestry of your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and intuition which have been weaved together over your lifetime. Together, we will explore these layers using various approaches which could include talk therapy, mindfulness tools, breath awareness, movement and body-centered techniques.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (University of Texas at Austin, MSSW 2004), certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist (www.pryt.com) and certified Dharma Yoga Instructor (www.dharma-yoga.net). I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness tools, Somatic Therapy and Body-Centered techniques. As a long-term mindfulness and meditation practitioner, I operate from a foundation of unconditional acceptance, empathy and kindness. You can expect to be treated with respect and confidentiality. I welcome all, regardless of life circumstances and abilities and I am open and affirming to LGBTQQIA individuals.
